The International Conference on Food Quality, Safety and Security – FOOD QUALSS 2017

The FOOD QUALSS 2017 was jointly organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management and the Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The theme of the conference was “Better Life through Sustainable Production of Quality and Safe Foods” and the conference was addressed  the need of collaboration of professionals, academicians, scholars, researchers and activists in creating a platform to discuss and disseminate meaningful messages, values and practices in the subject of Food Science.

The opening remarks of 2017 were made by the Conference Convener Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Co-Founder & Managing Director – The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka) and Conference chair Prof. K.K.D.S. Ranaweera, Director to the Bandaranaike Memorial Ayurveda Research Institute (BMARI), Board of Governors in Institute of Food Science and Technology Sri Lanka.

The keynote speech was given by Prof. Corke (Chair Professor, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China) on the topic of “Future Research Directions in Grain Production and Quality” FoodQualSS 2017 provided a solid platform for around 50 researchers, stakeholders and policy makers from across the globe representing from around 10 countries.

The conference provided a refreshing experience for all, especially for the young researchers who had the opportunity to share their research findings on an international platform.

The conference comprised of five technical sessions and a poster session during which researchers from around the world presented their research findings. The technical sessions as follow.

  • Food Quality and Safety
  • Post- Harvest, Food Value Chain And Agro Production Technology
  • Food Nutrition
  • Poster Session
  • Biotechnology, Functional Food Production And Nutraceuticals

Publications [ in progress ]

All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference abstract book with ISBN. All full papers will be accepted through a double blind reviewed process and will be published electronically with ISSN in proceedings with a DOI Number (DOI prefix: 10.17501). We will index all accepted full papers in CABI Publishers and submit the proceedings to be indexed in the Thomson Reuters, SCOPUS, Mendeley, Google scholar and CiteULike for possible Indexing.
